Coffee on a Fiberon Composite Deck

Composite decking is one of the newest innovations in the decking world. The technically-named "wood-plastic composite" or WPC, is comprised of recycled plastic and wood by-products. Composite decking is an amazing material capable of a variety of mechanical feats that standard natural hardwood decking is simply incapable of in terms of placement, formation, durability, and color fastness. Available composites at Uncle Hilde's:

  • MoistureShield™ Decking
  • Rhino™ Decking
  • DuraLife Natural Grain Decking

Composite decking features superior color fastness when compared to natural wood decking. It also doesn't require staining or oiling, as it is manufactured with the coloring already applied within the decking itself. Composite exterior decking is very resistant to rot and termites.

Uncle Hilde’s is New England’s exclusive dealer of DuraLife Decking

All DuraLife Decking products are crafted from reclaimed hardwood fiber and rugged, UV-stabilized polypropylene.

DuraLife Decking combines a unique polypropylene-based formula with a highly advanced manufacturing process to yield a superior material. DuraLife Decking was the first composite decking manufacturer to use polypropylene instead of polyethylene and also the first to introduce a capped composite decking product. Polypropylene (think of Tupperware® or red gas cans) makes it stronger, stiffer, and harder than other composites, so it can span longer distances and withstand higher temperatures with less expansion and contraction.

Although no decking is truly maintenance free, DuraLife Decking's capped composite technology is stain, fade, and mold resistant so it requires only regular sweeping and periodic washing with soap and water to keep it looking great.

DuraLife Decking offers product warranties for both residential and commercial projects. Our Residential is a limited 25 warranty that is transferable and gives you extra protection and peace of mind, while our Commercial is a 10 Year Limited Warranty.
